Broodmares
For more than 80 years, R.A. Brown Ranch has remained committed to continually improving the American Quarter Horse as one of the breed’s original breeders. Our broodmare band blends time-tested ranch bloodlines with carefully selected modern genetics, always built around strong maternal lines and intentional matings. The goal remains unchanged: to produce sound, functional athletes capable of thriving in the tough West Texas terrain and handling every job required of a dependable ranch horse. Within that foundation, exceptional athletes emerge with the ability, heart and durability to excel at the highest levels of cow horse, roping and versatility competition.
RAB Miss Blue Bayou (Regina)
Regina has reinforced our belief that riding our mares and truly understanding their strengths and weaknesses allows us to make more thoughtful sire selections—and ultimately breed a better horse.
Sparks Smart (Sunshine)
Sunshine is the prototype of an exceptional broodmare—beautiful, proven and backed by the strength of her sire, Genuine Masterpiece.
This Shiney Miss (Hicklette)
Now one of the most coveted broodmares in the country, she has produced multiple winners—including Regina, the first Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion bred and owned by R.A. Brown Ranch.
RAB Go Peppy Fly (77)
Representing more than 80 years of R.A. Brown Ranch breeding, "77" consistently stamps her foals by today’s leading stallions with her signature muscle, structure and bone.
Seven S Razzberry (Razz)
A daughter of Blind Sided and out of a Playgun mare, her pedigree offers endless possibilities for stallion selections as she raises the next generation at R.A. Brown Ranch.
RAB SmartKittyCat (Fraulein)
Fraulein represents the proven combination of WR This Cats Smart and Shining Spark through her dam, Sparks Smart. A carbon copy of her exceptional dam, we are thrilled to have Fraulein carrying this influential bloodline into the next generation.
