SimAngus ... the very best of Angus, Red Angus and Simmental genetics combined into one. The breed complementarity is fantastic. You get the benefits of what each breed has to offer.
Angus & Red Angus: carcass quality, calving ease, easy keeping, and high reproductive efficiency.
Simmental: carcass yield, added growth, milk and muscle.
Our Simmental herd has been bred for over three decades to produce maximum growth in an optimum sized animal. For nine years now, we have bred our yearling Simmental heifers (our newest and best genetics) to moderate sized, easy fleshing and high carcass quality Angus and Red Angus bulls to produce an ideal beef animal. Our SimAngus females just weaned one of the heaviest sets of calves on the ranch and every one of them bred back.
How to Best Use Them:
Using hybrid sires of superior genetics, (just like these bulls) is what the pork and poultry industries are doing to reach all new records for production and customer satisfaction. Many cattle producers are seeing the same results by using these hybrid bulls. Use them with confidence just like you do purebred sires. Superior genetics have been stacked in from both sides of their pedigree, generation after generation. They work great on English and English cross cows to keep the percentage of English genetics at half or more, maintaining and improving their superior carcass quality, easy fleshing ability and reproductive efficiency. The 1/8 to 1/4 Simmental in the resulting calves will increase their growth, muscle and yield grade while simultaneously giving you the opportunity to keep replacement heifers with added milk, yet they can still fit your environment. If your cows are ½ Continental and you want to keep them there, then these bulls will keep you there and make the calves even better because of the superior genetics bred into these hybrid bulls.
Here’s a promise you can take to the bank....using all of our knowledge and experience in these three breeds, we will continue to give you access to what we think are the best of “three worlds” in the form of SimAngus herd sires. You’ll see more of these in the years to come as we grow this segment of our seedstock herd.
