Hat Creek Ranch - Elmore Red Angus

The ranch is located 40 miles NE of Dallas, Texas and is owned and operated by Mark and Brenda Elmore along with two full time employees. We purchased the 700 acres of lush rolling pastures with live oak trees in 1983 and hae spent these past few years building the ranch, its working facilities and cow herd. We operate both a registered seed stock program and a commercial cow calf program. The cow herd consists of registered Red Angus, registered Angus and commercial cows. We use three quality Red Angus Donor cows purchased from the R.A. Brown Ranch and one Angus Donor cow purchased from the Gardiner Angus Ranch in our ET program.

Our business is to produce and sell quality Red Angus and Angus bulls and females as well as quality commercial replacement females. We continually strive to be in the forefront of the genetic process. All of our breeding is done at the ranch using both Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer technology. We believe by using the combination of the 21st century genetics along with science and technology we can develop animals that are not only performance based but are also visually attractive. There is little doubt that the use of EPD's, ultrasound technology and sex determined semen has changed the process by which the breeding process is completed. However, in the final analysis, we are not satisfied unless the animal produced can perform in the real world, not only for us but for our customer as well.
